What is the purpose of dusting ash

Dusting ash does not require the same high temperature treatment as silicate cement, but tests have shown that after seven days of curing, it has the same compressive strength as silicate cement. It requires only a small amount of sodium-based reactive chemicals to harden silicate cement. Worldwide, more than 20 billion tonnes of cement are produced each year, and cement production accounts for 5-10% of global emissions of carbon dioxide, second only to the transport and energy sectors, and has become a major source of greenhouse gas emissions.

Manufacturers often use small amounts of silica and aluminium rich fly ash in concrete as a supplement to silicate cement. The industry usually blends 5 ~ 20% fly ash into cement to make it environmentally friendly, but a significant portion of it is still cement.

Dusting ash improves the structural and mechanical properties of the composites, with a balance of calcium-rich fly ash, nano-silica and calcium oxide, and less than 5% sodium-based excitants. Much of the past work has focused on the so-called F-type fly ash, which is caused by the low calcium content of anthracite or bituminous coal burned in power plants. However, globally there are a number of low quality coals such as lignite or sub-bituminous coals. Combustion can result in high calcium or C-type fly ash, which is more difficult to activate.

Dedusting ash consists of materials such as polymers and catalysts, and is free of chemical components such as sulphur and phosphorus and residual impurities.

When making cold-pressed pellets from dust removal ash, the molecules in the surface layer of solid particles are in a state of force imbalance. As the materials on both sides of the surface layer of the cold-pressed pellets are different, their densities are also different, so the surface layer has a higher energy. After adding the dust ash cold-pressed pellet binder, the dust ash cold-pressed pellet binder comes into contact with water and mixes with water to form a liquid glue. During the mixing process, the colloidal molecules in the glue intersect with the dusting ash particles, are wrapped, and then pressed into the ball press.

The use and efficacy of dusting ash

1. Directly add dry powder: add the compound binder evenly into the material, the ratio of material and binder is generally 100:1, the amount of binder added varies according to the particle size and specific surface area of the material.

2. Wet the material, spray appropriate amount of water according to the humidity of the material, pay attention to control the humidity.

3. After mixing evenly, press the ball.

4. Convey the moulded pellets to the dryer by conveyor belt and dry them at 150 for 1-1.5 hours, or dry them naturally.

5. There is no need to add bentonite and other auxiliary materials when using gold ball pressing binder, which does not reduce the grade of pellet ore, avoid digestion, sintering and drying of raw materials, and realise one time ball formation, which saves smelting solvent and energy consumption.

6. One ton of Jinzang ballast can produce 20-30 tonnes of pellets, which can be shaped by directly mixing and stirring the dust ash ore powder, dust sludge, adhesive and water in proportion. The product yield is as high as 99%, the wet ball is more than 1 metre high and won't fall, the solidification speed is fast and the strength is high. The wet ball can be stacked for 5-7 days, and can be melted in the furnace at a high temperature of about 850 without cracking. It is a new product in the metallurgical ball welding industry.
